Guided By Pollard:
a peek at Eat II by Bob Pallard

Bob Pollard always continues to impress. After fronting the legendary Guided By Voices for nearly two decades, Bob and company called it quits a year ago after a four hour, 63 song new years eve finale in Chicago. Now a year later, Bob still maintains his restless pace. Earlier this year he released Eat II, a literary magazine filled with 41 of his original poems and 33 original collages and on January 24, 2005 his first post-GBV solo album, From a Compound Eye, will be released on Merge Records. Thanks to Mr. Pollard for letting us print a sneak peek of Eat II. If you like what you see, visit robertpollard.net and buy it before it’s sold out!

AIM MY FRIEND WHEN YOU PUKE, INTO THE FUTURE

This is for the generations of children
who have had to resort
to the artificial solace
of hard drugs and defense violence
from never ending nightmare
of human devils
running all consumingly rampant
on blood and oil lust
waging war for dominion
over their one and only school and sanctuary

Most of us love you

hang your art
try to find happiness in your souls
and have THEM go fuck themselves
