The Occasional Beetle

it seems that
lately
I've taken to
sitting
and watching the world
go by
which is fine
just
I never get anything done

except sitting

I do a lot of that
watching blossoms
open, bloom
and fall

I don't find many answers
in the trees, just
the occasional beetle
and maybe,
if I'm lucky
the muses will stop
and spare a moment

to whisper
