Number 4
by Michael Kelly

scream if you find yourself.

broken heart tee shirts and beer brawl nights
the pile grows and tumble down you go
the animated people the street lights
and day glo orange
the bump and grind
the tit and the tat
lights that flicker and fade
cold april nights whisper june and your soul alights
to the great big Saturday night
the moment when you smile, spark, and slide
speak jazz and dance the madcap glee
twirl color into the windows of heaven
and
fall into a rooftop dream with the swirl
or tomorrow and yesterday
make a labor of love
tattoo your sky and run like hell
close your eyes and don’t think
Go.
