I'm sorry
by Brian McGuigan

many women can say
they’ve had their hearts
broken
but never a jewelry box
thermometer
purse
or flower pot
I can’t say much
to fix these things
but I do take fault
except for the flower pot
that really was
an accident
Brian works at Richard Hugo House, is co-editor of when it rains from the ground up, and producer of “A Night of Cheap Wine and Poetry.” His first collection of poetry, MORE THAN I LEFT BEHIND, was published by Spankstra Press in 2006. www.write2die.com
