Using
his life experiences, Robert Hardgrave
briads a biographical macrame' from farm animals,
plumpish people, fantasy and medical traumas,
creating his own distinct symbolism. Recycled
materials are his media of choice, employing paper
bags, found wood, old books and most recently
doll parts. Having a penchant for the contour
line, Robert employs a "0" sized brush
to execute most of his drawings and paintings.
For over a decade, Robert Hardgrave has occupied
the Northwest, producing work for many local newspapers,
magazines and businesses, the Seattle Weekly,
The Stranger and the Tablet to name a few. He
has participated in numerous group shows including
exhibits at Vital 5, Roc la Rue, Judith Schorr
Gallery, Blue Bottle Gallery, the Bemis building,
amongst the occasional cafe. Robert has been featured
on the web through ZeD-Open Source Television,
Crane Magazine and Antipoda.
